I have been researching the surname Vargulich (Vargulics ???) with little luck. Not sure of the spelling in the old country which is stated as Austria and Hungary and even Czechoslovakia in USA census records. The family spoke Slovak in the home.

John Vargulich was my grandfather. My Grandmother's name was EVA (sometimes listed as Effie and we believe her maiden name to be HOTRA). He was 21 when they married and she was 17. Their daughter's name was MARY and she is listed as being born in Austria so I would think they were also married in Austria before immigrating to the USA specifically Pennsylvania. He was a coal miner for awhile and then owned his own farm in Pennsylvania, USA.
